We are thrilled to announce a dual exhibit happening at FRANK for the month of January. Running from January 5th-February 6th, 2021 the gallery will feature the work of local and regional printmakers as well as 10 local and regional artists who were chosen by our guest juror Jennifer Dasal.

GUEST JUROR JENNIFER DASAL

10 Years, 10 Artists was a statewide call for artists to celebrate FRANK Gallery’s 10th anniversary year. Choosing only 10 artists was a challenging task, but thankfully we had the highly esteemed and discerning eye of Jennifer Dasal to take on the assignment and we are honored to have her involvement in this show. Dasal is the curator of modern and contemporary art at the NCMA and host and creator of the podcast Art Curious. The chosen ten artists represent a wide-range of media and we are excited to see the show hanging with all their creative and incredible work. Thank you so much to Jennifer Dasal and to everyone who applied for this exciting juried statewide exhibit.

The chosen artists are:

Sean Bailey, Ivana Milojevic Beck, David Davenport, Cindy Geary, Virginia Green, Mitzie Jokich, Tara Kuhn, Jennifer Markowitz, Rob Morgan, and Richard Perry.

Print invitational

Equally as compelling, and new to FRANK is the Print Invitational show, featuring the work of local and regional printmakers; Raj Bunnag, Bill Fick, Ellen Heck, Heather Muise, and Dominick Rapone. These five incredibly talented artists, each with their own unique take and techniques of printmaking will be showcasing their work for the first time at FRANK. This Friday, January 8th from 7-8pm, we will be hosting a “soft” opening reception for our Printmaking Invitational Show now hung in the gallery. Join us to listen to a pre-recorded video from the five featured printmakers and Dr. Dana Cowen Curator for European and American Art at the Ackland as well as a live question and answer session with the printmakers.
