Welcome to the age of green fashion
In this post we’ll explore sustainable fashions: fashions that uses only recycled materials to construct outfits, and thus promote recycling throughout the community on both a local and global scale.
FRANK’s Rubbish2Runway (R2R)
This year we will once again host the R2R event on Friday, September 12th at 6:30PM. Tickets will be sold online for VIP seating, which includes access to the pre-show reception. Ticket sales open officially on August 16th. Of course, tickets are not required to attend. We hope to see another great turn-out for this year’s show, so invite your friends and prepare for an evening of exciting green fashions!
Recycled couture & the future
The future seemed promising when ” in the early nineties… the seeds of sustainable fashion were sown and the concepts of recycling and environmentally friendly fabrics [first] began to grow” (source). However, it wasn’t until Stella McCartney‘s eco-friendly line graced the runways in 2002 that it became the “haute couture”, so-to-speak, of the new millennium. More of the history of eco-fashions can be found on this page by Vogue magazine.

What do you think? Would you wear “recycled” clothing? Does sustainable fashion have a future?
