While also being stunning depictions of the natural world, Nerys Levy’s featured work is focusing on two major issues confronting planet Earth right now, climate change and the COVID 19 pandemic. Nerys Levy is a plein air artist, traveling all around the world to capture the essence of the world we live in, in her unique and beautiful style. Her works in this exhibit on the Arctic and Antarctic are based on sketches she made there when visiting those Polar regions.

Carroll Lassiter is a plein air artist capturing the incredible views we have in our backyard here in North Carolina with her oil paints. Carrroll’s attention to detail is meticulous, capturing the light and spirit of the place she is painting. Each of Carroll’s paintings transport the viewer to a familiar place or familiar feeling wrapping each viewer in the warmth of the light she captures. Adding to her exquisite pieces are her hand-forged custom steel frames on each one of her paintings.

Patricia Saling is a guest artist for this show, but she has been a wonderful asset to the gallery for years. Patricia is continually experimenting with clay and glazes and glaze application making each new collection of her work intriguing and exciting. Making functional vessels is often the core of her pottery making, allowing each hand picking up and using her pottery, another part of the history of the ceramic pieces.

John Parkinson is an incredibly talented woodworker and furniture maker. With a remarkable eye for detail and design, John creates pieces that are functional and enhance one’s home. Mixing a design esthetic of contemporary design and craftsmanship with techniques of Danish cord weaving John creates a unique style of his own design with his stunning one of a kind pieces.
